The Family and Medical Leave Act

- New Changes that May Affect Your Business-

The United States Department of Labor recently published new regulations interpreting the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) that become effective January 16, 2009.

One of the most significant modifications is that the Department of Labor has changed its stance of Professional Employer Organizations (PEO). Under the new regulations, a client of a PEO with fewer than 50 employees will not have to comply with the FMLA simply because it does business with the PEO. This could be cost saving!

For more information on the FMLA,
visit the US Department of Labor's website.
