One of the largest family festivals in northern Palm Beach County, TurtleFest 2009 is currently seeking volunteers. TurtleFest, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center's signature event will be Saturday, April 25 from 10 am - 7 pm at Loggerhead Park in Juno Beach. Volunteers ages 16 and older are needed to work various shifts at the FREE community event. Volunteers who work a minimum 3 hour shift will receive community service hours, a complimentary TurtleFest 2009 t-shirt and free food and drink. A 'pilot' program  called  'Penny a Push' will begin on April 7th, at Watson B. Duncan Middle school in Palm Beach Gardens.  "Penny a Push" project, seeks to install at least one automatic door opener in every public school by 2011, starting in Palm Beach County.
