PBCC District Board of Trustees
Seeks Input on College Name

The PBCC District Board of Trustees values community input. Over the past year the Board has conducted community forums to receive input on a wide range of topics including the possibility of a name change. We are reviewing a number of factors as we prepare to vote on whether or not to change the College's name. We want your input on this important decision.

In 2002, the Florida Legislature recognized the need to address a statewide shortage of bachelor's degree holders, and initiated a plan authorizing community colleges to respond to this critical need.  Last year, the Legislature changed the Florida Community College System to the Florida College System (FCS).  Local boards of trustees were authorized to change the name of their institution if the institution received state approval to offer bachelor's degrees and the required accreditation.

PBCC Bachelor of Applied Science

The College is now offering its first Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Supervision and Management.  Additional bachelor's degrees may be developed in other high-need areas.

We want to assure you that the core values of this community college, including open access and provision of college preparatory instruction, workforce training and associate degrees, will remain unchanged.

Please let PBCC know your opinion by responding to this
quick survey.
