PBIA Expansion Plan Public Hearing

The Palm Beach County Department of Airports (DOA) proposed a plan to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to expand the south runway at the Palm Beach International Airport (PBIA) to accommodate existing and future aviation demand. In January 2007, the FAA initiated an Environmental Impact Statement to evaluate the environmental impacts of the County's proposed project, which includes local citizens opinions.

On November 12, a public information workshop and public hearing will be held at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. The public information workshop will be from 4-7pm, and the hearing will begin at 6pm.

The Business Forum of Palm Beach County, of which the Chamber is a member, supports this project and encourages you to attend the hearing on November 12th. The Business Forum is an unincorporated, non-partisan group of representatives of leading business organizations which meet regularly to discuss critical issues affecting the county. The Business Forum formulates positions and promotes action on common issues.

Other comments about this project may be directed to the FAA by emailing pbia-eis@urscorp.com.
